Nina Ramessar, M.D., is a board-certified rheumatologist who treats patients with rheumatological and autoimmune disorders of the joints, muscles and ligaments. She completed her medical degree at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago. Her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in rheumatology were both completed at the State University of New York (SUNY).
Dr. Ramessar is currently a rheumatology attending physician at Lutheran Hospital and a clinical adjunct assistant professor for Indiana University School of Medicine, Fort Wayne. She has also worked in St. Joseph, Michigan, and as a faculty member at Rutgers University. Dr. Ramessar has published peer-reviewed articles about lupus and works with American College of Rheumatology (ACR) educational committees, as well as the local chapters of the Association of Women in Rheumatology (AWIR) and the Scleroderma Research Foundation.
